Pioneers of Modern Spanish Architecture (2)
Learning from a work
The second edition of the Pioneers of Modern Spanish Architecture Congress, which this time focused on the theme “Learning from a work”, continues the series of publications of the different annual editions of this congress organized by the Alejandro de la Sota Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works.
The book organizes its contents around four major sections, each moderated by leading academic and professional figures, such as Carlos Puente and Blanca Lleó. Through a critical approach, the selected papers not only rediscover emblematic works, but also shed light on lesser-known projects that, despite their anonymity, stand out for their relevance and conceptual validity.
With special emphasis on the analysis of the design and construction process, this volume highlights the importance of the strategic and creative decisions that shaped high-impact architectural solutions. Each chapter addresses a specific case study, exploring its essential principles, from materiality to functionality, and concluding with a reflection on how these values remain relevant in the contemporary context.
