TC 76- New Terminal T4 Area of Madrid-Barajas Airport
This monograph is dedicated to the building of the new terminal T4 of the Madrid-Barajas airport. The graphic information of photographs, general plans and details is developed exhaustively, allowing to know in depth this singular building.
The terminal, which is the biggest in Spain, was commissioned to enable Barajas International Airport to compete with major hub airports within Europe.
For the drafting of the New Terminal Area project, an international contest promoted by Aena was convened. In October 1997 the proposal presented by the team formed by four companies was chosen: the Spanish architecture firm Estudio Lamela and the British Richard Rogers Partnership, the Spanish engineering company Initec and the British company TPS.
