The Restoration of the Architecture of the Modern Movement
Despite what is believed, the architecture of the Modern Movement has not begun to be properly documented nor has it become a serious object of investigation until the end of the 20th century, precisely as a result of the development of the scientific restoration campaigns that are the consequence of the transformation of this architecture into "architectural heritage". The main focus of this book is on two big questions.
In the first part, the ideology and artistic connections of the founders of the Modern Movement are synthetically studied, paying special attention to the most serious theoretical formulations.
In a second place, this book deals with the corrections to the restoration theory that have resulted from the confrontation of the restorers with the modern architectural heritage. To contrast the veracity and scope of both analyzes, the book includes a detailed analysis of a good number of restorations of masterpieces of modern architectural heritage.
