The Castellón Museum of Fine Arts revolves around a cloister, landscaped with magnificent cypress trees, belonging to the old Serra Espadá school.
The museum program is structured in four different areas: public, semi-public, work and storage. These areas, in turn, are organized into three clearly differentiated buildings. In the central building, around the landscaped cloister, the museum rooms are located behind closed doors and the offices (semi-public area). Attached to it, on the nascent side of the complex, a building with a new plant is built, and cubic in shape, where the various exhibition rooms of the permanent collection (public area) are located. On the west side, and separated from the existing building, a new longitudinal building houses the restoration units (work area 9. And, finally, in the basement, under the restoration pavilion, the funds deposits are located (storage area) connecting the work areas and the exhibition building.
