Taku Sakaushi, 1959

Taku Sakaushi was born in Tokyo in 1959. He started studying architecture at Tokyo Institute of Technology, where he completed his graduation thesis under the supervision of Dr. David B. Stewart in 1983. He went on to the graduate school in the same university to advance his knowledge and skill in architectural design under Prof. Kazuo Shinohara and Prof. Kazunari Sakamoto, delivering his Master Thesis at Graduate School of Architecture at University of California at Los Angeles under Prof. Charles Moore in 1985. 

He began his professional career at NIKKEN SEKKEI LTD, and later established his own architectural design firm, OFDA Associates (which stands for Office for Diverse Architects), in 1998. He stepped into the teaching sphere as a lecturer in several universities, including the Tokyo University, Tokai University, and Meiji University. He eventually joined Shinshu University as Associate Professor in 2005, defended his doctor thesis in 2007, and was appointed Professor in 2008. Since 2011, he has been Professor at Tokyo University of Science.
