Dictionary of Light (2nd edition)
From the myth of Prometheus, who steals fire from the gods, to the latest scientific advances, man has not ceased trying to dominate light, and implicitly seeks its laws to use them in his favor. Light, with its variations, has conditioned the life of man and his cultural development, as reflected in the symbolic value it has received in all civilizations from the most primitive peoples.
Only from a precise knowledge of light will we be able to handle this ethereal reality and put it at the service of the arts and sciences. Only from that precise knowledge, which supports our decisions, can we act freely.
This dictionary wants to be an instrument that helps to better understand this intangible matter that is light. The need for precision in the use of the terms related to it has led us to elaborate it.
