Fortunately, for a few years now, it is no longer necessary to begin an essay on the engineer Eladio Dieste (1917-2000) explaining in the first place what character he is dealing with. The inexcusable recognition that this Uruguayan engineer has received in the last decade of the 20th century through various exhibitions, articles and monographs, was late and almost posthumous but, at least, it has put things in his place.
