Implanted in extensive land, the small palace of the “Quinta dos Floreados” was built in century XVII, which belonged to Viscondensa of Mallorca, including the adjacent chapel of “Nossa Senhora da Tocha”.
The intervention comes from the ruin, reinterpreting it a backdrop and memory of the place. The proposal seeks dialogue between past and present, the balance between two stories, with the ruin as the larger unit and natural presence in the morphology of the terrain.
Been preserved and consolidated the walls of the ruin and restored to the fronts of existing windows. They used the traditional painting plaster lime based on the pre-existence, distinguishing the new construction through building systems lighter inside the ruin (profiles of iron and stainless steel) and the salient bodies of concrete, plastered and painted white. Matter crumbs of ruin was reused in the wall of transitional protection and historical background to the pool area.
