The building is intended to have a strong horizontal scale in order to enhance its singular nature. A two-story prismatic volume whose top floor glides and moves toward the street as a cantilever, causing the front of the parcel to be covered by a large-scale courtyard marking the entrance to the building. This process of great formal forcefulness, both visual and of scale, solves the issues of representation, while at the same time liberating an large part of the surface of the parcel for outdoor use by creating a courtyard.

This forecourt is covered by the cantilever for three quarters of its surface, leaving the remaining quarter uncovered. This structural cavity allows for the perception of vertical space projected into the sky, conferring the desired internal vertical scale. The courtyard, an enclosed space isolated from the immediate environment that is tied to the facilities located on the underground floor, is accessed by an outside staircase that slides along a folding ceramic screen that contains, in turn, the building’s installations.
The plan is developed based on two systems of perpendicular movement, in whose intersections are placed the stairs. On the ground floor is located the part of the specifications related to the laboratories, the general reception and the general secretary of the building. On the first floor are the classrooms, the library and the administration and management, as well as photocopying, filing, meeting room and computer facilities.
In the semi-basement there is a café and a multipurpose space, understood as a flexible piece that could be used for various purposes: assembly hall, professional seminars, lecture hall, large courses, election periods, events (catering), exhibition hall...
