TC 70- Cannatà & Fernandes. Recent work
It is common for pairs of architects who, working together, develop a professional line that merges the synergies of common concerns and combines complementary characters to generate architectural results of greater richness, the result of that union. What is not so common is to meet a couple of architects who, starting from different roots and theoretical-practical bases, are capable of, through effort and permanent search, obtain a new fruit, an architectural result of their own in the that the parts are no longer recognized, that they have been fused during the process. This is the case of the architecture of Michele Cannatà and Fátima Fernandes. But these two lines blend well. The result is a highly productive union between Portuguese constructive pragmatism and the theoretical power of Italian architecture, an interesting combination between critical regionalism and the typological bases of the tendency.
