Belén Moneo and Jeff Brock
Moneo Brock is an international architecture, planning and design studio founded by Belén Moneo and Jeff Brock. Established in New York in 1993 and with its main office in Madrid since 2002, the studio has developed projects in Spain, the United States, Mexico, Colombia and the Dominican Republic, building a body of work defined by innovation, sustainability and a careful attention to cultural and urban context.
The international education of its founding partners has shaped the identity of the office. Belén Moneo studied Art History and Visual Arts at Harvard University and received her Master of Architecture from Columbia University. Jeff Brock graduated in Architecture from Princeton University and also completed his postgraduate architectural studies at Columbia. Both have developed an active academic and teaching career at leading institutions in the United States and Spain.
Moneo Brock’s work is based on an integrated understanding of architecture, where spatial, structural and environmental responses form a coherent whole. The studio pays particular attention to sustainability, urban design, the creation of public space and the relationship between architecture and landscape, seeking for each intervention to make a positive contribution to its surroundings.
Over more than three decades, Moneo Brock Architects has developed projects of varied scale and complexity, including museums, educational buildings, university masterplans, urban infrastructures, religious buildings, hotels, wellness spaces, historic building renovations, interior design and industrial design. Its work has been widely published and presented in international lectures across Europe, America and Asia.
The volume TC 175 Moneo Brock presents a selection of key works from the studio’s trajectory, showing its approach to contemporary architecture through projects that combine research, constructive innovation, sustainability and a deep attention to place.
