TdB Architects

TDB Arquitectura is an architectural studio founded in Barcelona in 1992 by the architect Juan Trias de Bes. Throughout its history, the studio has developed extensive experience in building and urban planning, covering institutional, residential and rehabilitation projects.

In the residential sector, TDB Arquitectura has carried out a wide range of projects, from social housing to luxury residences. A notable example is the 'Block of 30 Apartments in Ronda de Dalt', a finalist in the 2007 FAD Awards.

The studio has also carried out important refurbishment projects, such as the transformation of the Palau Moxó in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter into a social housing complex Juan Trias de Bes, born in Barcelona in 1964, has been an architect at the Barcelona School of Architecture since 1991. In 2013 he received a distinction for his doctoral thesis entitled 'Arquitecturas Matéricas' (Matter Architectures), which focused on the relationship between matter and form in architecture. In addition to his professional work, Trias de Bes is a member of the Laboratory of Technological Innovation in Industrialised and Sustainable Building (LITEIS) and directs the 'hARQware Chair', which focuses on innovation in information and communication technologies applied to architecture.
