Architecture and Sustainability
In recent times, and with increasing force every day, developed societies show a special sensitivity towards the compatibility between the concept of progress and that of respect for the environment. This aspiration, today almost a requirement, has found accommodation under the term, discussed by many and not sufficiently precise, of sustainability.
This book has its origin in the First Conference on Architecture and Sustainability held at the Valencia School of Architecture. The texts are the transcripts of the lectures given by philosophers, engineers and architects of recognized good work. In them, they show their progress in the different fields of experimentation, introducing themselves into the current architecture debate, from a perspective of assessing their permanence.
