Out of Plan
The City and its Framing
The book "Fuera de Plano: La Ciudad y su Encuadre" is a collective work that explores the relationship between architecture, urbanism, art and philosophy through various essays.
Edited by José Antonio Ruiz Suaña, this volume highlights the importance of rethinking the city beyond its conventional representations, inviting a reflection on the spaces that remain "off the plane" in the usual urban narratives. With contributions from several authors, the book addresses topics such as the stylization of urban reality, architecture in cinema, urban cartography as culture, and flânerie as the reading and writing of urban space, among others. It is an attempt to understand the city beyond its everyday immediacy, revealing the resistances, powers, presences, and absences that configure the urban fabric.
