Dedicated monographically to analyze the project and construction works of the Hotel Palau de la Mar (Valencia, 2002/04), promoted by one of the main European chains, Hospes Hoteles.
The intervention in one of the few examples of patrician house or urban mansion from the end of the 19th century that is conserved in the city, supposes the recognition and enhancement of some pre-existents whose typological qualities (entrance patio, double access staircase, wall system , skylight, ...) and formal (eclectic facades: basement, triptych window, ...) are unrepeatable.
The work assumes the search for that difficult balance between transhistoric continuity and the right to modernity that architecture and today's society claim.
